I know some say that there is a fine line between genius and madness. If so, he was both.

He was quite dodgy to put it plain. I hope he had plenty to live on while he was around and that his death was painless.

WT magazines in different territories

when i was a jw i always had a question that i don't think i ever got to the bottom of.. it was do the jw's in different countries get different versions of the watchtower and awake magazines?.

it always struck me that the magazines were always very america-centric and a lot of the issues addressed wouldn't be applicable to jw's overseas.

living in the uk i found some of the articles to be extremely patronising and i could only imagine what an african or russian jw reading them would be thinking.. there were articles about conserving money by only taking one holiday a year or only having one car in the family.

I know that covers are manipulated so that they are more racially acceptable in certain countries. They don't look the same everywhere. I know that in the past they had articles tailored to the country they were published in. I can't verify that now, but it used to be that way. Anyone else more up to date? I'm sure the study articles are all the same now.

i'm thrilled to tell you about the latest court decision made in california a few days ago which kimberlee norris said would be announced today, monday, on jwd.. on july 3rd, i started a thread where the last two rulings in the napa county, california lawsuit, charissa w. v. watchtower, new york, et al., were posted.

both decisions were favorable to the plaintiff.

when i was a busy little pie-in-ear we had a local apostate who would come and pretend to be interested.

The organization is imperfect, they can always find fault with that, but not the Truth from the Bible." I remember thinking that there must be something to that because that's all he would do, attack the Society.

It didn't help that the young man wore black fingernail polish and had hair dyed dark black and wore very tight clothing. He wore eye makeup and was very feminine. The young brother ridiculed that after he left. I stood up for him, basically saying that he must be searching for a way to live, this is probably his latest incarnation. Maybe he'll find one thats healthy. You'd think I'd shaken hands with the devil after I said that.

My DC invitation is delivered today

she let me know that they were supposed to give one to everybody.

You are quite observant. I wasn't going to say what you said for fear of being labled an egotist, which is what most feel many elders are. The fact that I dropped out at the top of my game, (just did a convention release at a DC. substitute P.School instructor, Service Overseer Pioneer for 9 years etc. made my resignation all the more unbelievable), and everyone was shocked.

I know they look at me as the same person because I haven't voiced any dissatisfaction to the masses. I just decided to slip away. There's no honor in fighting people about thier faith when it is only an aggravation for them. As you said, the fact that I'm not there speaks vollumes. I do speak to some, but mostly trusted family and few others.

I wish it were a dinner invitation from some friends house for a chat instead. They just don't know how to do that.

A car full of sisters whom I've known for years showed up today. One got out of the car and asked if I got my "invitation". She let me know that they were supposed to give one to everybody. That of course made me feel special. Then she said, "We miss you." I wanted to say, "if you miss me so much why haven't you or anyone else stopped by in a year and a half?" I know she's been in the hospital recently so I ask her about her health and small talk awhile. So insensitive she assumes my Father is not doing well because of his diabetes. I remind her that my Mom was dead and he's still mourning. (No one has cared enough to check on him. Of course he was only an unbeliever.)

This is the sort of friendship that being honest with witnesses leads to.

Laud our God, Laud Jehovah God.
